Post-Doctoral Fellowship:
Algeria: Nation and Transnationalism 1988-2010
A 12-month post-doctoral fellowship is available in the Department of French, University College Cork, in the context of a project funded by the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences on Algeria: Nation and Transnationalism 1988-2010. The fellowship is available from 1 November 2011 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in a relevant area of research; will have an excellent reading knowledge of French, an understanding of postcolonial approaches to literature, a willingness to undertake research within the scope of the project and to write research papers, and a capacity for organising academic events. She or he will be required to carry out research on contemporary Moroccan and Tunisian writers and to work with the project leader on establishing comparisons with contemporary Algerian writers.
Candidates should apply by email and provide 1) a cover letter 2) a C.V with list of research activities and details of academic record to date 3) contact details of two referees 4) a copy of published article/chapter.
