POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS
Three-Year Postdoctoral Prize Research Fellowships in Social Sciences Nuffield College, University of Oxford Nuffield College intends to appoint, with effect from 1 September 2012, anumberof Postdoctoral Prize Research Fellows (PPRFs). Applications are invited from graduates of any country wishing to undertakeresearch in any area of the social sciences except Economics, for whichthereis a separate competition. Applicants who wish to undertake research inEconomic History, or interdisciplinary research which includes Economicswillbe considered. The main interests of the College are in Economics, PoliticsandSociology, but these are broadly construed to include, for example, socialscience approaches to history, social and medical statistics, internationalrelations, social psychology, public policy, and social policy. PPRFs' main responsibility is to engage in independent scholarly research.Theyhave no teaching or administrative obligations but are expected toparticipatein the intellectual life of the College. They will be expected to organise aseminar or workshop in their subject area during the three-year term oftheirappointment and the College can help finance and organise these activities.
 Post-doctoral salary starts at £21,750 p.a.
 Research budget £2,379 p.a.
 Free single College accommodation or £5,319 p.a. housing allowance

ï‚· Child support funds available The Fellowships are intended for scholars from any country. To be eligible,candidates should hold a bachelors and/or masters degree and should by 1September 2012 have completed, or be close to completing, a doctorate.Candidates must not have spent more than a total of eight years inpostgraduatestudy, teaching or research in the social sciences by the date of taking uptheFellowship, and should not have previously held a research fellowshipsimilarto that advertised.
The Fellowships are to be taken up on 1 September 2012. The appointment willbefor 3 years.
